Lasertech Mijas on the Business 1st Network

lasertech Lasertech Mijas on the Business 1st Network

I have always found business networking to be an excellent promotional tool, not just for my own business but also for discovering like minded business people who hold the same views and are also looking for companies they can trust and rely upon. When carrying out business with any customer if that customer is happy with your service they will quite often ask for your advise and recommendations for other businesses or services they require, it is therefore very rewarding and comforting to be able to suggest your network colleagues with the knowledge that that customer will receive a good and fair service, this is especially important here in Southern Spain.

Therefore when I was first told of Business 1st I had no hesitation in agreeing to attend to see how it ran and operated and to meet the other members.

I have now been a member of Business 1st for a whole year and will carry on being a member in to the foresee able future, it is very well run and the members are all extremely friendly and professional. I have personally gained a number of new customers and referral work through the Business 1st group and I have also  learnt a great deal from the keynote speakers which has given me the confidence to promote their businesses to my customers.

Medicare – Hospital Health Patient Care on the Costa Del Sol

medicarens Medicare Hospital Health Patient Care on the Costa Del Sol

The quality of healthcare and hospital facilities on the Costa del Sol is generally of a high standard. There are excellent Doctors and Spanish trained medical staff and the hospitals are well equipped with the latest in high-tech equipment. The larger hospitals in the main cities tend to offer specialist care or particular areas of expertise and treatment.

In-Patient Facilities

In-patient facilities can be accessed via social security (if you’re eligible) or via private health care. Private hospitals vary, but on the whole they offer a good level of service and excellent standard of treatment. The Social Security hospitals provide excellent acute care, but very little if any after care.

Admission to hospital is unsettling at the best of times but in a foreign country it can be even more so. No only do you have to contend with the language problems but you also have to adjust to the cultural differences. Admission to a social security hospital will generally mean sharing a room with 1 (or more) other patient and if that other patient is Spanish you will be sharing your room with several of their relatives 24 hours a day.

Hospital Environment

The reality of this is that a Spanish hospital can be a very noisy environment. Basic care is not delivered by the nursing staff, but by family and friends. If you don’t have family or Friends to help you, you may need to employ someone who can.  The nurses will attend to your medical needs but will not help with your basic needs. The standard of nursing care is good but not what we are accustomed to in the UK.  The hospitals are generally very clean and the food is of a good standard, though typically Spanish and served at the usual Spanish eating times.

Admission to a private hospital or clinic will mean a private room and bathroom, but you are unlikely to notice any difference in the type or standard of nursing care. Most private hospitals or clinics have Client liaison officers who speak several languages and they can help to bridge the gap between you and the medical staff should you encounter any problems with care delivery or language.

Care in your language

Although in some of the hospital here some of the staff speak English and there is usually a voluntary interpreter service, you can not depend on this. This often leaves a patient feeling confused and vulnerable. If you require an in-patient admission to hospital be prepared and have access to a good translator.
